My name is Michael Saathoff I grew up in Eastern Iowa on a farm outside of Hazleton -Oelwein and have been living in the Des Moines area since July 2008 with my wife Kelly and our 2 dogs. I made the decision as a sophomore in Oelwein high school that I was going to do digital photo restoration for a living and started out working for a local photographer right after high school. I ended up doing more design work than restoration and it really stuck. I got an offer to design ads for a newspaper and made the change. A few years later I got a call from a buddy asking if I wanted to come work at his new web development firm. A couple of months into that he dropped a Macromedia (yep back before Adobe bought them!) Flash MX2004 book in front of me and I became a Flash developer. I have been designing and developing web applications ever since.

I am currently working as a Flash Developer for an Agency in Des Moines, Iowa called Two Rivers Marketing. We design and develop interactive applications for touchscreen kiosks and web. I have been doing freelance web development since 2005 and spend anywhere from 25-40 hours a week (my wife can verify this!) designing and developing websites for a few smaller marketing firms.

When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my wife and 2 dogs, hanging out with family, golfing, riding BMX, Iowa Football!, and pretty much anything outdoors!
